Has anyone accused of botting been unbanned?
So following a tangent from the discussion here*, I'm curious, has anyone who had been banned as part of the 3700 accounts been unbanned? (I'm not talking about normal everyday bans, but the big ban event several weeks ago.)
I'm simply curious, because this would give legitimacy to A.net's claim that they are actually reviewing cases and not just botting every inquiry.
If so, post the e-mail that they sent you.

idk about the 3700, but once there was a mass banning of people who botted the kurz HFFF when it existed. Later they were all unbanned and let off with a warning. This has been quite a while ago now. November 13, 2008 update made the run impossible.

He's talking about the 3,700 accounts that were terminated the other week (I still personally don't think the botters from that last mass-banning deserved to be reallowed back into GW, but that is a totally different issue).
As far as I know/heard, several people have been unbanned (people who were perma'd for KSmoD injecting, ect). My sources are based off of Gaile's Wiki page.

i wouldn't know as i have never tried to cheat in GW by botting. haven't noticed a big enough decline in population to care either.

I honestly don't care how bad people feel, they honestly knew they were 'cheating' at something to get what they wanted... and ended up getting what they deserved
Hopefully everyone stays Perma Banned

Chances you won't hear from them if they do, it's always easier to complain than show gratitude or post on an issue fix.
99% of what sounded like legitimate complaints were squires who probably posted once or twice, got accounts back, and will never visit here again.
The rest were clearly botters hiding behind excuses.
The fact such complaints are already fading into non-existence should be answer enough.

Since I don't hang out with those types of players, have not heard of anyone getting an account back. They are not coming out of the woodwork however.

I dunno, I've heard rumors that people who actually *botted* were being let off by anet. No reliable sources though, hence rumors.

I botted, I got banned, I stay banned.
All my respect for A-net would go straight out the window if they unbanned me.
Now I know many of you will look down on me, okay.
I'm leaving GW anyways.
And if you wanna know why I botted it's because I find it very fun to try and make optimal bots and really fast runs.
I havent sold/spent any of the money I made on anything else then consets to speed up my runs and giving it to mates
I cant believe botters who cry over this, I knew perfectly well what I was getting into when I first injected GWCA
Just wanted to give you my view on things.

After half a dozen prompt yet essentially uninformative responses from Anet I am yet to get my account back. I still retain a modicum of faith that this error will be resolved although my faith in the Guild Wars franchise has been almost completely lost. I feel betrayed, but I will not give up.

I didn't bot, I got banned and then unbanned after explaining the case to Support.
If you're banned by accident, email them politely and be patient as your ticket gets passed up the chain then it'll get sorted I feel.
I'm actually quite grateful and impressed for the way in which Support handled my query considering they could have simply told me to get lost
|
Cool, I'm happy for you Melkorium. As the OP requested do you have a screen shot of the email support sent you reinstating your account. What was the reasoning behind their change of mind and did they admit fault?

Botting is one of the more serious offenses you can do on the game. Unless you can prove you weren't botting then NO. If you got banned for botting and was actually was doing it I don't think Anet is going to welcome you or anyone else back anytime soon.

I didnt bot and got banned and still they didnt fix it they suck.
But even if they would ficx it now it would not play any game of ncsoft anymore.
I dont want this to happen again.
If they would fix it prob i would break the EULA and sell the account

If you are banned why are you still bidding on stuff in Ventari’s.

I have had a slightly more pressing issue regarding Guild Wars in the past 5 days than the monitoring a 2k bid on a mini pet that I made 9 days ago. I thank you for your concern and I will remove the bid post haste.

I know someone who was banned then bought a new account rom the NC store and had that new account banned. They unbanned the newly purchased account but his main is still banned (rightly).

Someone in LA was "wts guild 7.5k" 2 nights ago. One of my officers was with me and decided to check it out. (Thinking about just doing an alliance with guilds on second accounts to bid on outposts) So he gets an invite to join and checks the status. Lots of account deletions, terminations etc. in the status and lots more leaving normally. 11million+ alliance... falling apart. He figured out that it was a bot guild and declined the offer. (Even offered the 100g back to the leader.) The leader then offered to sell it for 3.5k. I lol'd.
